Sharks Netball Club choose Conwy Mind as Charity of The Year!

We were over the moon when the Sharks Netball Club got in touch at the end of last year to let us know that we would be their Charity of the Year!

The local team that train at Aberconwy Sports Hall are an incredible group who are eager to give back to their community. The players submitted various charities they wanted to support but after a vote Conwy Mind gained the most. Conwy Mind have provided support for a number of players as well as their family and friends so it is a charity close to their heart.

The girls didn’t hang around with their fundraising and got stuck in straight away, taking part in our very first Mental Elf 5K fun Run!

After our Fundraising Officer Nikki visited the team one evening at their training session, they were also convinced to sign up to Seal Splash! Six of the brave Sharks turned into the Seals for the day as they took on our cold-water dip and raised an incredible £658 towards their fundraising target!

So far their fundraising page stands at an amazing £868 and they have a number of fundraising plans for the year! One of their players will be taking on the Chester Triple, they’ve done sweepstakes and there’s also talk of a netball charity tournament!

We can’t wait to follow the teams fundraising journey throughout the year, if you’d like to support them you can donate to their Just Giving page here

We’re so grateful to the Sharks Netball Team for supporting Conwy Mind, every penny will go towards funding our free services that help so many people who are struggling with their mental health.

If you’re looking for a charity of the year to support and would like to fight for better mental health then head here.
